Captain's Ledger ("the App") is a sea service logbook for mariners. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Data Stored on Your Device
All sea service records, trip logs, vessel profiles, and settings are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it.
- Trip logs (dates, hours, vessel, location, waters type)
- Vessel profiles
- USCG license goal settings
- App preferences
Data We Collect
We collect minimal data necessary to operate the app:
- Account information (optional): If you sign in, we receive a user identifier and email address solely to associate your subscription status.
- Purchase information: Subscription purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive confirmation of subscription status via RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details.
- Crash reports & diagnostics: Anonymous crash data may be collected by Expo / EAS to help us fix bugs.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not collect location data in the background.
- We do not serve advertising.
- We do not share your sea service records with anyone.
Third-Party Services
- RevenueCat — subscription management. Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing.
- Expo / EAS — app delivery and diagnostics.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
